I am a practising artist, living and working in Folkestone. My passion for art has been with me for as long as I can remember. As a child, my very best thing was my Saturday art club, which I looked forward to all week. I'm still in touch with friends I made there, and all of us have ended up working in the visual arts, in one way or another.
At Art with Ali I hope to inspire the same lifelong love of art in my students that my teacher did in me.
I studied Art History at the University of London, Portraiture at Heatherley School of Fine Art in Chelsea, and have a PGCE from the University of Greenwich. I have worked in a variety of educational settings at home and abroad, including Kensington and Chelsea College where I was a Course Director.
However, I have learned most about teaching and even art from the young people I work with, whose natural creativity is endlessly inspiring.
